The most wonderful time of the year is approaching and if we have learned anything from 2020 is that homemade, product quality and transparency are key. If you’re feeling inspired to whip up some useful, quality and sustainable gifts this year, read on and get making!

1. DIY melt and pour soap – Christmas molds

1. Ingredients
   • 2 bars of Kochii soap
   • silicone Christmas molds
   • clear alcohol in spray bottle
   • extra kochii oil if you wish
2. Method
   • Use a glass bowl to melt the soaps by either double boil method or microwave
   • Add extra Kochii oil if you please
   • Pour into molds
   • Spray some clear alcohol over the molds and allow to set in a cool dry place for 4 hours (don’t put them in the fridge)
   • Empty the molds on the a sheet of baking paper and allow to sit overnight
   • Package up and gift

2. Kochii scented play dough for the kids

1. Ingredients
   • 1 cup of flour
   • ½ cup of salt
   • 2tsp cream of tarter
   • 1tbsp of olive oil
   • food colouring
   • 1 cup of water
   • 10 drops of Kochii
2. Method
   • Mix flour, salt, cream of tartar in a pot
   • Add Olive oil, water and food colouring
   • Place pot over low heat and cook dough until it pulls away from the sides
   • Allow dough to cool
   • Add 5 – 10 drops of kochii and kneed
   • Gift in an airtight container

3. Christmas clay ornaments with Kochii oil for the car

1. Ingredients
   • ½ cup of fine salt
   • ½ cup of plain flour
   • ¼ cup of water
   • optional food colouring
   • 5 drops of Kochii per ornament
2. Method
   • Preheat the oven to 100 degrees
   • Combine ingredients to create dough
   • Rollout on a clean surface
   • Cut to shape depending on preference
   • Use a metal straw to insert a hole at the top of the ornament
   • Lay a sheet of baking paper on a tray, place ornaments on tray and back for 45mins, flip then bake for a further 30 mins
   • Allow to cool, insets ribbon through the whole, paint if desired and then add 5 drops of kochii per ornament. Hang the ornaments in the car or around the house to enjoy the fresh smell of kochii

4. Reed diffuser

1. Ingredients:
   • Small glass jar with narrow opening
   • 5 bamboo skewers
   • 2TBSP of rubbing alcohol  
   • ¼ cup of a carrier oil (almond oil, oliver oil, grapeseed)
   • 30 drops of Kochii
2. Method
   • Mix the carrier oils, Kochii drops and the rubbing alcohol, into the glass jar and stir well
   • Trim the pointy ends of the bamboo skewers
   • Place the skewers in the jar, tie some festive ribbon around the jar and your gift is ready. Make sure the skewers are turned upside down every few days.

5. Bath salts

1. Ingredients
   • 250 grams of Epsom salt
   • 100 grams of pink sea salt
   • 30 drops of Kochii oil
   • dried rose petals etc for decoration
2. Method
   • Combine the salts
   • Add the Kochii oil and use hands to thoroughly mix into the salt mix
   • Add any petals extra and mix
   • Pour salts into airtight jars and store in a cool place, use Christmas ribbon or stickers to gift.
